Having been informed of the quality of the work that you and the team at Cannizaro completed at the Port of Tilbury in London Container Terminal, I was very interested in understanding what level of review and recommendations you and your team could deliver at the Port of Grangemouth.
Now the work has been completed over a six month period, and the Port is going through the implementation of your recommendations, I am pleased to confirm that the Port of Grangemouth management team as well as myself and the directors of the Forth Ports Group fully recognise the benefits that Cannizaro have brought to our operational thinking and day to day management of the Port.
As a multi-discipline Port, which has significant interactions across its commodity groupings, Cannizaro were able to fully analyse significant amounts of data, provide a set of management tools that assist with the day to day running of the Port and also provide assistance with the strategic direction of our operation, in particular with regard to operational manning and operational/engineering efficiencies.
The output of your work has assisted in many areas and covered discussions with employees, customers and suppliers. As a result of the high quality of the work undertaken the output has been easily understood and acted upon by parties outside the Forth Ports organisation.
Through good cooperation with your team, the analytical and strategic skills shown by the consultants and through the commitment of the management team at the Port of Grangemouth we now have a clear strategy for both the operations and engineering teams at the Port. We continue with the implementation of the agreed changes and I very much look forward to seeing you in the near future as we start post implementation audits later in 2015.
Please pass on my thanks to all of the team involved with the Port of Grangemouth study.
